Million-dollar Convoy of Oregon Wine Delivers Smiles to Coronavirus Caregivers

In early May, the Willamette Valley wine industry came together and loaded their vans with an astonishing 1,500 cases of wine and non-alcoholic sparkling wine grape juice. The caravan headed to facilitates in both Portland and Eugene with their gift of wine, providing a “thank you” to the people risking their lives on the COVID-19 front lines.

A “snowball project” that started with the efforts of a single restaurateur, Paul Bachand, kept on increasing in size until an impressive, 152 wineries contributed to the Willamette Valley Wineries Association’s “Wines for the Front Lines” Project. Vintus’ own Ponzi Vineyards contributed 268 cases of their ‘Cugini’ non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice to the project.
