Oregon Wine Press reports that although it might not be the 50th birthday party bash that Ponzi Vineyards had originally planed for, the pioneering Oregon label is celebrating nonetheless.
In Ponzi’s half-century in the Willamette Valley, there are many chapters to the story. Mark Stock reports that “From finding a New World home for lesser-known Old World grape varieties like Arneis and Dolcetto, to promoting diversity in the workplace and helping Chardonnay’s renaissance in the Willamette Valley, the company has always been both involved and instrumental”. In celebration the winery’s newest chapter, marking 50 years, Stock interviews Anna Maria Ponzi, part of the winery’s second generation and president of the company, on their fascinating success.
