Anseillan 2020
Pauillac
This wine grows from a unique terroir that has long been a part of Lafite’s blend. The debut 2018 vintage released in 2022, offering a chance to taste this merlot-dominant wine on its own.
Vineyard

This wine grows from plots on the Lafite-Rothschild estate that are generally cooler and later-ripening than the rest of the estate due to their northern exposures. The soils also have a higher proportion of clay than the classic Lafite terroirs.
Winemaking
Crafted in the Lafite cellars, this wine ferments in wooden, concrete and stainless steel vats. Gentle pumpovers during a 20-day maceration ensure a soft extraction, and the wine undergoes malolactic conversion. Then, the wine ages for 16 months in French oak barrels from the Tonnelleries des Domaines in Pauillac. The blend includes 63% Merlot and 37% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tasting Note
Broad, rich and harmonious, this wine’s firm tannins promise excellent aging potential.
